The Discourse Analysis Study and Research Group (GEPEAD) started in 2012 at the State University of Feira de Santana-UEFS, under the coordination of Professor (Phd) Palmira Heine Alvarez. The group has developed studies of theoretical texts on the pecheutian perspective, thinking about language as a material place for ideology, arguing the way in which silence is constituted, considering what language is in relation to the silence. The work developed by the group is related to studies of subjectivities constitution, meaning, ideology, media discourses, gender issues, among others. During these years of activity, several researchers have already completed their undergraduate studies both Ma and Phd levels, several books and articles have been published and have contributed to thinking about social and linguistic reality from the perspective of discursive studies.
